You all that only know the Nik Collection as free live in a fantasy world to think that if DxO wants the modest sum they're asking for it (what, $69?) and that's some exorbitant ripoff price, great, you just start charging $0 for the work you do. Just because Google (they of the multi-billions of dollars of spendable cash money) acquired Nik and decided to give it away for free doesn't mean it wasn't worth what it originally went for. There's mention on the DxO forum that some changes have been made to improve stability, so if you're having crashes, or a new version of your current editing software stops working with your current Nik plugins. I haven't downloaded the DxO version because they (like the Google version) do not work with PhotoLab, and the ones I have installed are working fine. If you want to be safe, maybe download the 'google' version, so you can uninstall the DxO version, re-install the Google version. You mean the original version you have installed? The DxO version will very probably not install to the 'Google' directory the free version used, so there won't be any interference. Īfter checking around online it seems DXO made very little /if any changes to the program so I may pass giving the trial version a try because I'd be worried what'll happen to the original version when the trial expires

, it's been free since I discovered it and find it a very useful plug-in that I use often. Obviously my bad timing but I can't help feeling a bit ripped off! I bought this software for several hundred dollars before the Google acquisition.
